
COACH AND DIRECTOR OF THE NH SPARTANS/LADY SPARTANS

Chris Coates has extensive basketball
experience as both a player and a coach. He started at Winnacunnet
high school in Hampton, NH where he was Mr. NH basketball and a High
School ALL-American. Receiving numerous offers to play in college,
Coach Coates decided on Keene State College where he was a two time
All-American and National player of the year nominee. After
graduation, he went on to have a successful overseas professional
career playing in Australia, France, Hungary and Norway where he was
2004 league MVP and leading scorer at 25.5 points per game. He also
played in the NBA minor leagues of the XBA Dakota Lightning and the
Adirondack Wildcats of the USBL summer pro league. Chris was a
player/coach for a season in France and coached a handful of games
in the pro ABA basketball league for the Manchester Millrats and
Boston Frenzy. Coach Coates has taken his 9th Grade Spartans Boys
team to the AAU National Tournament every year since 2008 seasons and his 8th
Grade Boys since 2010. |

COACH AND SPARTANS/LADY SPARTANS CO-DIRECTOR

Jason Campbell, son of Hall of Fame basketball coach Bruce Campbell,
attended Hillsboro-Deering High School where he was a three year
varsity player in basketball, soccer, golf, and track & field. Coach
Campbell was an all-state javelin thrower and still holds his school
record. After high school, he decided on Keene State College. There
he was a track
athlete for four, where he won his conference and placed in regionals.
Deciding to concentrate on track, but still having a love for
basketball, Coach Campbell stayed with the Keene State College team
working as a student assistant with the coaching staff and sports information office. Since college, he
has been coaching youth and high school programs, camps and AAU with NHHDS and
various school systems. Last season Coach Campbell led our new Lady Spartans
program in Derry, NH while coaching a very Talented 5th Grade boys team and 6th
Grade boys team that both won the State Tournament and made an impressive run in
the AAU Nationals. |

COACH AND SPARTANS STRENGTH AND
CONDITIONING ADMIN.

Craig Favara has been affiliated with
the NH Spartans since 2009 and in 2011 became the exclusive strength
and conditioning coach for Spartans/Lady Spartans athletes. Favara
has been coaching AAU for since 2009, but has been training high
school, college and professional athletes since 2005. Craig
played his high school ball at Exeter and college basketball at ST
Joes in Maine. |

SPARTANS COACH/TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR
 |
Tim Lee offers a wide range of talents as a basketball
player, coach and mentor. As a player, he ranks 6th highest scoring
leader in NH high school history and a scholar athlete at Southern
New Hampshire University, where he holds the record for most 3-point
field goals made in a career as well as ranks 26th scoring leader in
school history. As a coach, he has served 3 years at the high school
JV level, 1 year in the AAU circuit, 1 semester with national
power-house Notre Dame Prep and has directed youth player
development clinics out of the Lakes region of New Hampshire. Aside
from playing and coaching, Coach Lee is a great resource for player
skill development and strength and conditioning mentor. |

SPARTANS COACH

Long time high school basketball coach at
Farmington High School, NH. Two state championship teams. His teams
reached quarter-finals or better 16 out of 21 seasons. Coach
Lee has been a camp director, motivational speaker and
clinician at basketball camps throughout the Northeast. He has
coached AAU teams ages 13-19 and participated in state, New England
and National tournaments. Was a member of the NHIAA Basketball
Committee, Classification Committee and Executive Council before his
retirement from education in 2009. Mike has been awarded numerous
coaching awards throughout his career including NH nominee for
National Coach of the Year as well as having coached many New
Hampshire All-Star and select teams. Married to wife, Candy. Has two
sons, Josh, an assistant basketball coach at Brewster Academy in
Wolfeboro and Tim, a former scholarship basketball player at
Southern New Hampshire University and member of the Spartans
program. |

SPORTSZONE LADY SPARTANS COACH
 |
Stephanie Steckis brings a wealth of coaching and
playing experience to the organization. She was a four year local varsity player beginning her
career at Manchester Central and ending at Manchester Memorial High
Schools. Heavily recruited out of high school, Coach Steckis decided to
take her game to Europe where she played professionally in Italy and
Germany. She has been a successful AAU coach since 2004 where she is
a master of developing and refining top post players. In 2011 Coach
Steckis helped lead the SportsZone Lady Spartans 4th Grade to the
programs first ever placement in the State Tournament.

NATIONAL SPARTANS COACH

Lewis Atkins began with the NH
Spartans in 2009 and has a very impressive basketball resume. He was a three year starter
at Romulus High School in Michigan where he was one of the top
scoring players in the state. Lewis was heavily recruited by over
ten Division I schools and finally decided to take a full
scholarship to Alabama A&M University. After college Lewis had
offers to play professionally overseas but he decided to start his
coaching career. Coach Atkins stayed at Alabama A&M where he was an
assistant coach for 4 years. As an assistant, Coach Atkins was in
charge of recruiting, scouting and running morning skills and drills
practices. |

SPARTANS COACH |
Brian has over ten years of
basketball coaching experience at the High School and Jr. High
level. He coached the Nashua Lynx, a High School AAU program, for
several years and won multiple State Championships as well as
successful appearances at Nationals. He’s been a an assistant coach
for a couple years with the Rockettes and won a State Championship
last year. He’s also been the Head coach at Nashua Catholic Jr. High
School as well as multiple years of recreation and travel coaching
experience. In 2011 Coach Mackey led his 7th grade team to a Silver
Medal finish in the State Championship. |

LADY SPARTANS COACH
 |
Paul Williams has over ten years of basketball coaching experience,
having coached both boys and girls basketball. He has coached AAU, CYO,
school, travel and rec programs, again for both boys and girls,
including a NH State Championship title in CYO Cadet boys, with a berth
to the NE regionals. The last five years Coach Williams has worked
within the Legacy girls' travel program as a head coach for the 8th
grade girls' program which competes in the highly competitive River
Valley League and helped to develop a boys program which competes in the
Manchester Suburban Basketball League. In 2010 Coach Williams joined the
St. Christopher CYO school program, working with students to develop
basketball players to compete at the middle school level and beyond.

NATIONAL SPARTANS AND LADY SPARTANS COACH
 |
Kenny Kimber began with the NH Spartans in 2003.
He is a basketball fanatic with an extensive basketball resume. Coach
Kimber was a 3 year varsity basketball player at Portsmouth High School.
He was then recruited to play at Wentworth Institute of Technology where
he was a starter at the point guard position for his junior and senior
years. After College Kenny Kimber started his coaching career at
Portsmouth Middle School where he was the Boys head basketball coach. He
then moved onto head coach the Portsmouth Junior Varsity boy’s team and
was the Portsmouth Varsity boy’s assistant coach. He also coached as the
Varsity boy’s assistant and JV coach of New Market high school. Coach Kimber's
10th Grade boys team set a Spartan best making it to the Semi-Finals of
the AAU National Championship. |
